Next Bixby and I were off to Nana and Grandad's for some much needed relaxation and to say goodbye to Cameron who was making his way back to Ohio. Bix loved exploring the big new house all on his own and got the play in the grass and swim in the pool. Nana Gwen and Grandad Oscar also joined us for diner. By the end of the night, Bix was pulling on Grandad Oscar's sleeve and snuggling cheek to cheek with Nana Gwen. Did I mentoin that I finally had time to finish the car seat cover....the cuteness overwhelms me...especially with Bix occupying the seat! We also made a trip to Ikea while we were there and picked up a walk behind push toy for Bix. I figured it would take him a week or so to get hte hang of it...boy was I wrong!

Which leads us to event #3....Bix and the push toy. It took him about a day and a half to master toddling behind the cart. He goes back and forth from the Kitchen to the fireplace and has even managed to back it up when he gets stuck in a corner. He loves how fast he can go!
Bix has also become quite the climber. He tries to climb the baby gates, but fortunately he hasn't quite figured out a way over them yet. And he tried to scale the dresser drawers today using the knobs as hand and foot holds. He will definitely love trees as he gets older.
And...last but not least...we learned to wave. Not the little hand curling wave...but a big sweeping royal wave, complete with wrist action and a big smile. Within the last few days, he has gone from waving on occasion to waving all the time. And when the mood strikes him and he is overcome with a happy thought, he reaches both hands up and out in a grand gesture that is a sure crowd pleaser. Of course this move speaks to the fact that he's becoming quite the ham....and as you can see from the picture below, it runs in the family.
