Spring camping 2012...with SNOW!!??!!
So the last few years, it has snowed on our spring camping trips....now we have gone in April but this year, we went at the end of May...so we figured it would be a worm-ish trip with lots of sun to be enjoyed while lounging by the lake. This is what we woke up to...
All Bix wanted to do was eat the snow...
We were expecting snow...as we checked the forecast before hand...but we were not expecting quite this much and for it to stick around as long as it did. We did head over to the store to grab some coffee and hot cocoa.
Eating more snow...
The lake was warmer than the air!
...yet more snow goes in the mouth
Finally...the snow has melted and our feet can thaw
We did come across some snow flowers...after the snow had melted
Ahhh...playing int he pop top...nothing better!
The boys tried to catch us dinner
" I saw one jump over there, dad!"
Waiting for a nibble
"this is fun, dad!"
nibble, nibble, nibble, please nibble!

Our camping neighbor Isa had 2 daughters (Maya and Elsa), who of course Bix took a liking to. Brian taught the girls how to fish and we shared their campsite the last night as we were planning on leaving a day early, but the nicer weather beckoned us to stay an extra day.
Yes...it turned into shorts weather the next day!
Bix led Maya around by the hand and wouldn't let go the next morning
Then it was off for a last cast of the reel and some boating around the lake
Maya paddled out a bit...
...then she made sure Bix was safe as they headed tothe other side of the lake.
Else tried and tried to catch us some lunch!
To top it all off, we stopped at a U-pick berry place in Hanford for some yummy treats
Bix loved running through the water....it was hot!
And all smiles to be heading home at the end of a great weekend.

Children's Day at the Park occurred while GiGi and Pop Pop were in town...so we all got to go enjoy the warm weather and activities at the Atascadero Lake Park. Bix's favourite....the train and fire engine of course!

Bixby's 1st REAL haircut
OK...so I have been limping by for a while with my own haircuts...but I needed some guidance as the hair just keeps growing and the floppy little boy look is getting old. So we updated the look slightly with Kim...not too much....he is still my little boy with beautiful long hair after all :).
