Welcome to our website!

Thanks for stopping by. With all that's changing in our family, we thought it would be a good idea to create a website where friends and family can keep in touch and share in our latest family moments. We will be updating with news of the day (not every day!), milestones worth noting, pictures, slideshows, and anything else we can think of sharing this way.

Talk to you soon!

So many new things

Bix is doing great on his favorite solid foods. for the past week or so he has been eating apples and pears for breakfast and avocado and pears for dinner. This dinner addition also means he is sleeping a little longer during the first leg of the night...so we are on our way to only one feeding at night....hopefully. He is also thinking really hard about crawling. Being the studier and thinker that he is, he is testing out the balance and the strength rather than diving head first into it...the floor that is. He is pulling himself up every chance he gets and balances on his little knees. He'll be off and running in no time....so our job for the weekend is to baby proof the house. He is also learning to use the sippy cup and is doing quite well. He does best when mom or dad helps, but he is getting the hang of it and it makes him feel grown up when he can have his drink while dad has his beer. Enjoy these pictures. Brian took a really long video yesterday so when I get it edited down, I'll post some clips.

Bixby's first camping trip

We headed down to El Capitan State Beach for the weekend and did some camping with Nana and Grandad. Bix was awesome, making friends and smiling the whole time...even when we missed a nap. He loved being outside, listening to all the sounds of nature (and the train), and watching the waves crash along the shore and the breeze blow though the trees. He slept next to Mama all cuddled up in the bus and laughed every morning as Daddy stuck his head down from above to say hello. The wind died down along the beach on Sunday, so we went for a nice long walk where Bix napped in the stroller and then we got to sit a while and let him put his feet (and hands) in the sand before we headed home. He had so much fun eating sand and playing with the lady bugs that were all over the beach. He snuggled with all of his grandparents, including Nana Gwen adn Grandad Oscar who came to visit on Saturday afternoon. We can't wait until we go back in October and Bix can get his feet in the water (it was too chilly this time) and crawl around...maybe toddle around....the campsite and the beach.

Nana Gwen and Bix having a laugh.

Nana Gwen and Grandad Oscar looking at the photo album we made for Mom's B-day. He recognized himself, Mommy, and Daddy.

Sitting watching the waves and the dolphins while Bix napped in the ergo.

Somebody's hammin' it up with Nana!!

Asleep for the night in the bus...or so we thought...he awoke at 8 and it took awhile to calm him down...but after that, it was smooth sailing for the rest of the night.

Nana and Grandad on our morning beach walk.

The gang on our walk....yes...Brian pushed the srtoller over those rocks in the background.

Bix napping by the ocean waves...I think this could be part of the stroller brochure!

The water was a little chilly and once a big wave came, Brian had to turn back. We carried Bix over the rocks in the stroller...anything to preserve the nap!

The sand eater!

And the ladybug studier.

Nana, Grandad, and Bix by the sea...all smiles!

Watch out for the tickle monster!
One last snuggle before saying bye.
