Welcome to our website!

Thanks for stopping by. With all that's changing in our family, we thought it would be a good idea to create a website where friends and family can keep in touch and share in our latest family moments. We will be updating with news of the day (not every day!), milestones worth noting, pictures, slideshows, and anything else we can think of sharing this way.

Talk to you soon!

We have a tooth!

Bixby cut his first tooth yesterday....not that we've seen it...as you can imagine, he's not big on adults prying his tongue aside and peering into his mouth...but we feel the little line of razor sharpness!

A visit from GiGi and Grandpa Gleason

GiGi and Grandpa came to stay in Cambria last weekend and we had a great visit. Bix had a ton of fun at the rental house pulling himself up on the big furniture and crawling all around. The house even had some thin stairs and he made it up and down without a thought. Of course the stairs did become a favorite play spot so we all kept an eye out. Every day Bix gets better...and faster... at moving around. Bix also had fun playing with Auntie Aly and Uncle Nate. Uncle Nate even let him play with his Blackberry! The weather was great in Cambria...a cool 65....and very welcome since the No. County was 105!

Big Sur and the Bixby Bridge

We went on camping trip #3 with the kiddo last weekend and had lots of fun...although we have determined that a weekend is just too short. We were excited for this one though as Bixby got to come face to face with his bridge. We stayed at Pfeiffer campground at the very end of the line near the river. It wasa great fun, although trying to control Bix crawling off the tarp and onto the dirt made it more interesting. We hiked up to the wimpy falls and Bix did great in the Ergo until the very end...so we carried him the rest of the way down the trail. We hiked to the river and all around the campground and on our way back home, we stopped at the Bixby Bridge for a photo op. Luckily there were quite a few people there willing to take a family photo for us as well.

Movin' and Groovin'

Bix is on the move. He started the crawl just before Live Oak but was still cautious and figuring out how to go the distance. But he has definitely figured it out now and there's no stopping him. He's a big fan of pulling himself up on the fireplace, and now that he's mastered that skill, he pulls himself up everywhere he goes. He even tries to pull himself up on his friend Lila....and she does the same back, so I guess they're even. Brian finished infilling the tile in the kitchen this weekend so that we wouldn't have any scraped knees. Did I mention that Bix is also in the throws of teething. We had a few rough days and nights and we can feel that tooth just below the surface. He is constantly rubbing his tongue over his lower gums and chews on everything in sight. All this and trying to learn to play guitar...the fun never stops for this kid! Oh...did I mention he also had his first big boy shower with dad the other night. He was in heaven and had so much fun. He definitely is not afraid of the water!

Still and always a happy boy
